Graphics faults and logic boards
The Pro is the MacBook with the powerful graphics chip, and on a number of models that chip is the part that fails. We see it most on machines with the NVIDIA GeForce GPU. The signs are distorted video, lines or blocks across the display, random flickering, or no picture at all while the laptop is plainly running.
It looks like a broken screen, but it rarely is one. The GPU is soldered to the logic board, so the cure is component-level work on the board. Our guide price for logic board troubleshooting and repair is £285 + VAT on older models and £450 + VAT on newer ones with the T2 chip.

Keyboards, batteries and upgrades
Sticky, repeating or dead keys are a regular job. Depending on the fault and the model, we repair the keyboard or replace it. A battery that no longer holds its charge is swapped for a quality part that carries a warranty.
Upgrades can put years back on a Pro. We fit extra memory, larger hard drives and SSDs on the models that allow it. If macOS has become unstable, we can upgrade it or carry out a full reinstall.
Models covered and how long it takes
We repair Aluminium, Unibody and Retina MacBook Pros in every screen size from 13 inch to 17 inch. Many faults are fixed the same day, and most of the rest within 24 hours. You can drop the laptop in at North End Road or have it collected and returned for free.
If a failed drive has taken your work with it, our Mac data recovery service can usually help, and there is no charge if the data can’t be recovered. For iMacs and other models, start at Mac repair.
Questions people ask
My MacBook Pro shows lines or a distorted picture. Do I need a new screen?
Probably not. Distorted video, lines and flickering usually come from the graphics chip on the logic board, not the screen. We diagnose the fault first and give you a free estimate before any repair.
Which MacBook Pro models do you repair?
All of them: 13 inch, 15 inch, 16 inch and 17 inch, including Aluminium, Unibody and Retina models. We deal with both hardware and software faults.
How quickly can you fix a MacBook Pro?
Many repairs are done the same day, and Mac repairs are usually finished within 24 hours. A diagnosis normally takes no more than 24 hours.
Can you replace a MacBook Pro battery?
Yes. We replace worn batteries with a quality part that comes with a warranty. Like all our work, the repair is guaranteed.
